Abstract
The purpose of this quantitative correlational study is to examine whether fluency mediates the relationship between vocabulary acquisition and reading comprehension among elementary students from a Midwestern school in the United States. The results suggest that vocabulary acquisition plays a substantial role in reading comprehension, while fluency strengthens students’ ability to apply vocabulary knowledge effectively during reading tasks.
The data analysis process consisted of three phases: data preparation, preliminary analysis, and primary analysis. Statistical analyses were conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 29.
